The Boscobel Area School District offers the best of two worlds, a school atmosphere that promotes small town values and robust educational resources normally found only in large city schools. At our district, we serve approximately 900 PK-12 students from the City of Boscobel, Village of Woodman, portions of townships in Grant County (Boscobel, Castle Rock, Hickory Grove, Marion, Mt. Hope, Watterstown, and Woodman), along with portions of townships in Crawford County (Clayton, Haney, Marietta, and Scott), and lets not forget portion of Richwood Township in Richland County. The district encompasses 185 square miles. Our schools are committed to the belief that each child has intrinsic value. We give full consideration to each child's feelings of self-esteem and self-worth. We encourage each child to achieve to the best of their ability and encourage a wholehearted participation in life. Students have ready access to digital learning technologies with fast internet in classrooms to promote student engagement, encourage self-direction, and foster critical thinking skills. Our teachers, staff, administrators, and school board are dedicated to individual student success and work to provide the best educational opportunities for every child. Open and direct communication between home, school, and community is critical to this effort. Our district boasts graduation rates among the highest in Wisconsin.

Boscobel Area Schools have earned a School of Promise award throughout the year(s) by the State of Wisconsin Department of Instruction. Given the trends and challenges we face, every aspect of our operations, from what we do in the classroom, to our administrative policies and practices, should be consistent with our core beliefs. Having Building Goal(s) will give meaning and guidance to our work in the years to come. Every child of a homeless individual and every homeless child are entitled to equal access to the same free, appropriate public education as provided to other students, which can be viewed at the Education of Homeless Children Policy. Boscobel is required to locate, identify, and evaluate all children, with disabilities, including children with disabilities attending private schools in the school district, and homeless children. The process of location, identifying, and evaluating children with disabilities is know as Child Find.

A little information about the City of Boscobel...
Boscobel is now known as the Wisconsin's Outdoor Recreation Destination! Nestled in the nature rich Wisconsin River Valley in Southwest Wisconsin, the City of Boscobel has a population of approximately 3,300 people. The economic engine of this beautiful rural community includes farming, with some industry. Boscobel has a vibrantly growing downtown. This river and bluff area is a recreation destination for nature lovers offering boating, hunting, fishing and biking. Boscobel, Wisconsin is also the birthplace of the Gideon Bible. The name “Boscobel” dates back to the mid 1850's when the Milwaukee and Mississippi Railroad established a station here. An official of the railroad, impressed by the panoramic beauty of the area, dubbed the new depot "Bosque Belle" - French for "beautiful wood".
